Meet the Eagle Hunters of Kyrgyzstan
One of the last remaining ancient traditions in Central Asia is that of the eagle hunters. Man would go hunting with their Golden Eagles in the mountains, catching small wildlife. In Kyrgyzstan this tradition is still practised on small level.
You can meet the eagle hunters on the Bird of Prey festival in Cholpon Ata, on the shores of lake Issyk Kul, a beautiful lake surrounded by the snowy peaks of the Tien Shan.
You will visit some villages, valleys as well as sleeping in yurts at the pastures around beautiful Son Kul lake, high in the mountains. Here you can see the way the nomads of Kyrgyzstan live!
