Day 1 Arrival Ho Chi Minh

The former Saigon has been officially called Ho Chi Minh City since 1976, but it is still mostly called
Saigon by the population. It is a very densely populated city and has more than 10 million inhabitants. It is a city where old and new influences mix. The rising economy of Vietnam is most expressed here. There is a great business, everywhere is being built and trade is being done everywhere on the corners of the streets. Saigon also has many monumental buildings, especially from the French colonial period. Here you can also find the largest covered market in Saigon, where the most diverse items are for sale. The Dong Khoi Street was in ancient times, the time of the French, the entertainment area with beautiful shops and buildings. Various historic buildings have been converted into hotels. The Vietnamese prefer to go to the Ben Thanh market , You can eat baguettes along the boulevard to Notre Dame is a church dating from 1880; a mass is held there every morning. Ho Chi Minh City also has interesting museums  of  war with important information about the history of the country. Whereas a few years ago it was mainly the bicycles that dominated the streets, nowadays people use scooters alongside the bikes (thousands of crosses running through the streets).
