Maybe you've never heard of Loikaw; Myanmar kept this area closed to foreigners for a long time. But now you can take an adventurous trip there. Although the Kayah state is largely inaccessible to foreigners, the area around Loikaw is now open to travel. You start with a scenic boat trip on the Inle Lake that brings you to the southern shores from where you travel overland to the town of Loikaw. In the area around Loikaw you will go in search of the Kayah and the Padaung tribal villages. The Padaung women are particularly striking with their stretched necks adorned by lots of jewelry. From Loikaw you travel back to the hill station of Kalaw, where you can take beautiful walks in the hills to the Palaung and the Pa'o villages.All our tours are here to inspire you.
