Myanmar Visa | Travel Documents for Myanmar | Passport and Permits

A visa is required to visit Myanmar and you must apply in advance. Tourist visas can be obtained from any Myanmar Embassy or Consulate world-wide. Travelers who plan to arrive via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Vietnam or Hong Kong can obtain their tourist visas from those respective embassies. Tourist visas are valid for a stay of up to 28 days.

September 2016: apply for E-visa for tourists.  
As per the updated announcement, tourists from 100 countries around the world are eligible to apply an E-visa which is available for tourists.  E-visa applications are only for tourists entering from Yangon International Airport.

Ordinary passport holders from the following countries are giving visa exemption for 14 days- (a) Brunei (b) Cambodia (c) Indonesia (d) Laos (e) Philippines (f) Vietnam.

All foreigners visiting Myanmar are required to have a valid Myanmar visa to enter the country and a valid passport. A Myanmar visa can be stamped at various Myanmar embassies and consulates around the world. Tourist visas, business visas, and other types of visas, such as social visas, can easily be applied for. The fee for a tourist visa is USD per person per application.

Valid passport with blank pages
TWO Tourist visa application forms per person
THREE passport-size photographs per person (Color photos only)
Confirmation of booked package tour in writing giving full details of tour and dates
Visa Fee in cash
Letter giving departure date from the country (provides daytime contact phone number)
