Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is an exotic, unspoiled travel destination and the largest country in the Southeast Asian peninsula. It borders Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand. The original meaning of “Myanmar” is "active and strong," but “Myanmar” represents the union of different ethnic races with their own languages and dialects such as Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine and Shan. They are all descendents of one of the three major migrant groupt: the Mon-Khmers, the Tibeto-Burman and the Thai-Shan.
After decades of self-isolation, the country’s culture, ecology and world-class archaeological sites are almost untouched and unspoiled. The country has more than one hundred different ethnic groups still maintaining their traditional cultures, and they are the real treasure of Myanmar. Myanmar is still mysterious, untouched, unspoiled and has a lot to discover.
