Take a walk through the city and see it through the eyes of a local, get to places you thought you never could visit, meet people, and smell and taste the local food during one of our street food tours.

China, Beijing, meet-a-local- making dumplings with Rena
Afternoon excursion: to the market and making dumplings with Rena and family.
By Rena and her family welcomes you at their home at 4:30 pm with a cup of tea. Rena lives in a typical Chinese city appartment in a residential community in Beijing and speaks English well.
After having tea you go together to the local market to get some ingredients for your dumplings dinner. A perfect way to get to know each other and to immerse in real Chinese food culture!
Rena explains and you just have to follow: rolling the dough, make the filling, folding the dumplings which are calles jiaozi in Mandarin Chinese. .. you have it fixed as a real cook. Together with Rena, her husband and baby-daughter you enjoy your Chinese meal and 7:30 pm you will return to your hotel.
This is a great opportunity to meet an ordinary Chinese city family in everyday life, just to see a Chinese house from the inside and of course telling stories together and exchange experiences!

Not included: transportation to Rena and back (taxi, subway, walk)

Our calligraphy teacher lives in one of the suburbs of Beijing, in an ordinary
apartment. Master Gui is a remarkable man, educated in a classical manner. He
masters various styles calligraphy and playing flute. During a visit to his
house you get a glimpse of how ancient Chinese culture is still part of the
life of the Chinese. And of course he teaches you a few nice traditional
characters!
