China is such a large country with many different landscapes and climate zones, it's hard to tell what the weather is clear and what is the best travel period. There's simply a big difference between the Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang, mountains of the Himalayas or the subtropical Xishuangbanna.Roughly one can say that China has hot, humid summers and cold winters. The best travel period for most common routes are the months of April / May / June and September. But every month does have its charm; Beijing winter is beautiful and you are finally rid of the smog. Blue skies comes the rest of the year in the imperial capital.
In southern China can be very humid in the summer months and you can travel better in early spring or fall (and even in Xishuangbanna in winter).
